Hi guys,
Just a quick update to let you know that I’ve just finished a mini series on the Great Leap Forward and ensuing famine on the Sinobabble Podcast.
For those of you who don’t know anything about the Leap, it was Mao Zedong’s grand plan to launch China into Communist Utopia ASAP, and resulted in the largest man-made disaster in history, the Great Leap Famine (1958-1962).
The 4 part series covers everything I could think of - how the Leap started, who was for and against it, how it played out in towns and villages, how different demographics were affected differently, how the famine unfolded, and academic debates surrounding how many people died in total.

The next couple of episodes of the podcast are going to be a lot more lighthearted!
Also, I recently appeared as a guest on another podcast, and have a couple more guest appearances coming up soon. Check out my discussion on The History Voyager, where we talk comparative politics, Sino-US relations, and China’s development: Podbean | Google
